Farmer held after cops find firearm during house raid

Unauthorized possession of ammunition and possession of an offensive weapon charges have been laid against a 25-year-old farmer in relation to an incident in Joe Hut district, Wait-A-Bit, in the parish on Tuesday, April 08.
He is Taffari Dawes of Litchfield, in Trelawny.Reports from the Falmouth Police are that at about 3:15 pm, lawmen received information that a white Nissan AD Wagon was transporting an illegal firearm.
The vehicle was intercepted, signaled to stop, and he complied.
A search of the occupants was conducted, during which a knife was found in Dawes’ waistband.
A warrant was subsequently prepared and a search was conducted at his house.
During the search a 9mm Luger cartridge was found in Dawes’ bedroom in a clear container atop a speaker box.
He was taken into custody, where he was subsequently charged.
